The Fitzhenry family came to Liverpool in the early 1820s from Wexford, Ireland. Edward and Ellen had approx 12 children. They include Stephen who sailed to Australia c1850 and Nicholas who moved to Winsford in Cheshire. I'd love to hear from anyone researching this family Val G PS My Mum was a Fitzhenry

My Dad, Roy Fitzhenry, was born and grew up in Winsford. His Dad was called Nicholas, married to my Nan, Ethel Fitzhenry (maiden name Brooks). My Dad's Grandad was also called Nicholas. It seems to ring true that he was from Liverpool originally.
Do you know the names of the other eleven children? I have been contacted by a Fitzhenry in Birmingham, who wants to know if perhaps we descend from the same line. Did one of Edward and Ellen's offspring move to The Midlands perhaps?

Hi, Sorry it's taken so long to reply - I just don't come on this site often enough. Hope you do come back and see this.
I have your Dad in my tree, on Ancestry, as Royston - is that correct?
If you look at the Galloway/Fitzhenry tree you'll see that your Grandfather, Nicholas, was actually the third with that name.
I don't know of any link to the Birmingham Fitzhenrys, none of the Liverpool family moved there. But they may well be from the same part of Ireland (Wexford).
Cheers
Val G
