Large numbers of Lesters in Wallasey and Liverpool. Looking in particular for descendants of William Lester (believe son of John Lester and Martha Thorley) 1796- 1843(?) and Eliza Dean. My ancestor Thomas, 1840, their son, moved to London and became a bookbinder (many other Lester's were pilots on the Mersey, shipwrights and farmers in Wallasey) - we have found a will of a Lester who was a bookbinder in London earlier in the nineteenth century (Thomas didn't move to London until the 1860's) -can anyone shed any light on whether there was an earlier migration of a Lester to London to be a bookbinder? I have no reason to suppose there was any connection but it does seem a coincidence with the bookbinding! cheers Kate
