William & Elizabeth Ashcroft [Nee Mutch] 1798 Wavertree, Liverpool
Thomas & Mary Ashcroft [Nee Mullins] Liverpool 1823 - Wavertree and Scotland Road area of Liverpool.
Henry John Ashcroft & Sarah Ashcroft [nee Birch - born Cockshut] living in Liverpool 1858 etc, Penrhyn Road, Victoria Terrace Scotland Road - St Johns Road Bootle. 10 Children all with "Howard" as the second name.
Alice Maud Howard Ashcroft born 7 April 1891
Flora Elsie Howard Ashcroft born 29 December 1892
Harry Howard Ashcroft born 9 June 1895
Thomas Howard Ashcroft born 14 August 1897
Elizabeth Mary Howard Ashcroft born August 1899
Jessie Howard Ashcroft born 10 April 1901
William Howard Ashcroft born 24 April 1903
Ralph Howard Ashcroft born 1905
Herbert Howard Ashcroft born 24 Nov 1908
Ronald Howard Ashcroft born 3 Dec 1910
Henry's brother Thomas Howard Ashcroft moved to Warrington and held a position on Warrington Council.
One of Henry's son's Thomas Howard Ashcroft joined the Merchant Navy on 5 February 1918, next day the ship was torpedoed and he lost his life. I think the ship was called The Spirit of Mexico or S.S. Mexico, and I'm trying to find details of this?
Harry Howard Ashcroft & Edith Mona Ashcroft [Nee Walsh] Clare Road Bootle.
Victor H Ashcroft & Jessie Ashcroft [nee Fletcher] 1922 Clare Road Bootle.
Trying to find why so many of the Ashcroft's had "Howard" as a second name, I have around 60 of them with this feature?
Thank you
Robbie Ashcroft
