WILLIAM DARRAHTEXT Searching for any reference to William DARRAH/DARRA/DARA/DARRAGH born Charlotte Street, Liverpool 24 Jan 1784, son of Archibald and Jane DARRAH, and was baptised St Peter 29 Feb 1784. William was a Docks cooper and a Freeman City of Liverpool - sworn 31 Oct 1806. Father Archibald DARRAH was a tailor of (variously) Darwin Street, Charlotte Street and Covent Garden. Archibald and Jane baptised children at St Peter, St Nicholas and the Newington Chapel, Renshaw Street, Liverpool. Possibly connected by marriage to the DICKSON family.TEXT. Believe that Archibald and Jane originated in Co Antrim, N. Ireland.

I have recently been told of a connection between my family of McAuleys and the Darraghs.
My McAuleys came from Waterfoot (Red Bay) in Co Antrim.
I believe that the Darraghs came to live in Liverpool then went back to Ireland (I will have to dig deep in my old notes to find out where they went back to, I don't think it was Antrim).
My McAuleys lived in Woolton and Garston.
Ring any bells ?
