Thomas FOSTER born about 1810 in St Helens.
His son, Thomas FOSTER known as FORSTER, was born about 1835 in St Helens. He married Margaret BATE at Christchurch on the 27th October 1856. His occupation was given as a bricklayer.
Amongst their children was my G-Grandmother, Martha Ellen FOSTER (known as FORSTER -IGI), who was born on the 14th September 1861 in York Street St Helens.
On the 1881 census the FOSTER family were living at 194 Elliot Street and her occupation is listed as being a dressmaker. She had a brother Thomas, a bricklayer, a sister called Margaret, and another sister called Mary. Martha married Benjamin Thomas BUTCHER on the 10th June 1888 at the Parish Church, Christchurch, Eccleston. At the time they were living at 194 Boundary Road Eccleston.
