[glow=red,2,300][/glow][glow=red,2,300][/glow]My grandma was a [glow=red,2,300][glow=red,2,300][/glow]Garry.[/glow]Her parents, Mary and William were fron Kildare. They lived in Burlington Street.
William Garry was borne around 1860, and died1900.
They had three children, Marcella,(1879) who we believe at the age of 19, married, and moved to London (Westham).
Other than an entry in the 1901 census, she is not on any thing else.
Richard borne 1880 stayed around Kirkdale/Bootle.
I think he married a lady named Kate,(Aunty Kate)was occasionally mentioned by my dad, and I think at one time lived down Marsh Lane. I dont have any details to confirm their marraige . Richard,as did William, his father, were dockers.
My grandma, Margaret Anne Garry was borne in 1887.
We were told one year later her mother died.
Records confirm this as 1888.We think she is buried in Ford Cemetery.
Records show in 1900, William died at the age of fifty.
Richard and Margaret, were now orphans, and went to live with their Aunt, Bridget Maher in St Johns Road, Bootle.(1901 census)Bridget was fifty according to census.
I looked in the previous census to see if there were details of her husband, as I suspect she is my grandads sister, which would make her a Coffey. My grandad had a sister Bridget, and named one of his daughters after her.
She was on the 1901 census as a widow.
The earlier census for St Johns Road, showed a different family in occupation.
Ive only just started researching my grandmas family, and theres a lot to find out .Weve not gone into Kildare yet.
If there are any Garrys who think they may be related, I would love to hear from you.
Maureen
