The Pusill's family came from Warrington to St. Helens, but when they came to Sutton their name was Crooks and in the early 1800's with that surname they were classed as crooks so they changed it to the mother's maiden name. This is what started me off doing research as I found a family tree of the Pusill family. but I haven't got anywhere with it as half the family where Crooks and the other half Pusill and I keep on getting dead ends. have a family tree (not mine?) going back to early 1800. it names a Thomas Crooks-Pusill and lists his occupation as a Glassmaker
