My great grandfather was Thomas James RYAN. He was born in Liverpool and his father was George RYAN who worked on the railways. My interest is tracing George RYAN's family. I think I have found him being married in St Nicholas on 31 Oct 1864. And these records show his father as being a James RYAN. From what I can find George RYAN was born in Donnington, Sussex. But I have been unable to confirm any of this information. So if anyone has information on a James RYAN and family moving to Liverpool some time between 1836 and 1864? Or perhaps George moved north on his own once he was grown? Perhaps James RYAN stayed in Donnington with his family? However, I can find no record of this. Anyway, this is the info I seek and shall continue to seek until I probably go even more round the twist than I am already ;D
