My grandmother was Rebecca COHEN (nee COHEN & formerly COHEN) she was married to another (unknown COHEN) before she married my grandfather who was also a widower. Rebecca was born about 1875 in Russia. She had a son (possibly two sons) to her 1st marriage. One son was Abraham. He appears for the first time on the Liverpool 1911 census with the family & was listed as Abraham FREEDMAN living with my grandfather Louis. (See FRIEDMAN/FREEDMAN/FREEMAN thread)
Abraham was aged 13 on the 1911 census, so born about 1897/8. He disappeared after this census & remains a mystery to the family. It is most likely he changed his name from Abraham to perhaps Alfred/Albert or something completely different. It could be that he also changed his name from FREEDMAN back to COHEN ?
If you are connected to any COHEN family who lived in Liverpool around the early 1900's, I would love to hear from you.
