Hi,My surname is Kellett,My Mother,Harriet Foster was daughter of Harriet Baker,Harriet's Parents were Robert Baker and Elizabeth McDermott.Robert's father James married Ann Pendleton c1840.Believe James parents were William Baker and Elizabeth Orford who married in St Nicholas Church in 1814.These 2 were probably from Cheshire. Would welcome contact from any-one who feels they are related to this family. The Baker name is quite common in the Walton area with several(apparently)separate families in the area.My people lived in Smithy Lane earlier on,then in St Mary's Grove, where my Grandmother,Harriet Foster(nee Baker)lived until she died in 1945 and I remained until we moved to Litherland in 1946. As we now live in New Zealand I am finding it difficult to seek out more"distant" relatives.
Best regards.
Rob

Hi Rob, I believe my Great great grandfather a James Baker was living in 1 Smithy Walton on the Hill in 1851. It appears all my Baker relatives lived in the Walton on the hill area.
They were my father Charles Baker my Grandfather Robert Baker then my Great Grand father William Baker and my Great Great Grand Father James Baker

Hi Ron,
Think we have conversed before, certainly Robert Baker,Born 26/2/1854 in Walton, lived in Smithy Lane prior to his marriage to Elizabeth McDermott in 1882.They lived in St Marys Place in 1891 and then in St Marys Lane in 1901. James Baker,Bc1814 and Ann Pendleton,Bc1820 were Robert's parents,on the 1841 census they were listed as living in Walton Village, later census' as Smithy Lane.
Best wishes,
Rob
