Still looking for information on my great grandmother, Elizabeth SMITH b. abt. 1852. I say abt. 1852 as in 1870 when she married she was noted as 'minor' on the wedding certificate.
Her father was Thomas Smith, Labourer.
In 1870 Elizabeth married James Reid in Liverpool and their son, Christopher Reid b. 1872 Liverpool (my grandfather) is listed as living with his uncle and aunt, Charles & Mary Lucas (both born Ireland) in the 1881 census records for Liverpool.
I can't find either James or Elizabeth registered in 1881 Liverpool but I think James, a seaman, would possibly be away at sea. I have no idea where Elizabeth is or why Christopher is living with relatives.
Also, the fact that the Lucas's were born in Ireland leads me to believe that maybe both James Reid and Elizabeth Smith were born there too.
James's father is given as Alexander Reid, Cooper - again birthplace unknown.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
