I know he was in Liverpool (possibly Walton) by1902. He said in earlier censuses he was born in Inkberrow, Worcs. in 1862. He had six children, Caroline, Fred, Margaret, Alice, Mary and Martha. He didn't die till 1947. Can he be traced in directories or electoral lists?

From the information you have given this is Dan Ballard who was married to Charlotte Ballard.

Yes,
It looks like a match - she was actually Annie Charlotte Roberts originally. Don't know what info. you have but I have him in most censuses and his marriage/birth certificates and one photograph of him. I did actually meet him when I was a very small boy. my connection is via Alice Ballard - she was my paternal grandmother.

This may be a long shot but is there a link between your Dan Ballard, born Inkberrow, Worcs who was possibly in the Walton area of Liverpool in 1904, and my gg uncle Frederick John Ballard, born 1876 Pinvin, Worcs? Fred was a railway engine driver in Walton on the Hill, Liverpool at the time of the 1901 census, and in 1911 was living in Emerald St, Liverpool, still working on the railway. Seems a coincidence that 2 Ballards from Worcestershire ended up in Walton in the early 1900's! I have been researching my Ballard tree for a number of years and haven't linked any Inkberrow Ballards to it yet but someone else may have made a connection? Here's hoping! Julie
